LV500 LAN71 lug vise as featured in Tim Paterek's frame manual chapter 1. The 2012 version features a 195mm. long body, a lathe turned expanding mandrel section of 1" diameter (all split sleeves have an internal diameter of 1") and 4140 Acme threaded drawbar hardened for wearability. The wedge nut has matching Acme thread which virtually eliminates jamming problems from the accumulation of steel filings. Also new in 2012 is a Jergens cast iron two spoke handwheel with finger grips which greatly improves the tool feel. The lug vise is sold complete with four split sleeves: 1ea. 1-1/8" (28.6mm.), 1ea. 1-1/4" (31.7mm.), 1ea. 33.8mm. (bottom bracket diameter) and 1ea. 36mm. Lugs with 1", 1-1/8",1-1/4" and 36mm. bores and English threaded bottom bracket shells may be held by the LAN71 lug vise. All parts with the exception of the polished cast iron handle are black oxide treated. The vise is made in the Strawberry workshop, Portland, Oregon, USA. The price is $305.50 F.O.B. Portland. To order, please contact Andy. PayPal and good check accepted. Stop Press: Brian Chapman of Circle A Cycles just received his lug vise and says, "Good enough to be in a museum". Thanks Brian.

ML 301/G-500 - Jigs for assembling and welding bicycle frames. Quite simple and extremely sturdy jigs have been studied to assemble and weld bicycle frames with all possible geometrical dimensions without moving the frame from the jig. These units are indispensable for designers of both custom made frames and prototypes and necessary for manufacturers of standard frames since they enable to quite easily pass from the smallest to the biggest of frames. Dimensions and angles are easy to set; just a few data are necessary and the jig provides for the remaining ones with the possibility of storing dimensions and tube lengths on a proper chart for an easier repetition of the same frame production. A unique detail of jigs ML 301/G is the fact that they not only have the distance of 500mm. between the frame centerline and the base plate, but that they also rotate 360 degrees around a horizontal axle, wherefore the operator has access to all frame points, even the ones that are quite difficult to weld. The jigs are provided with a pneumatically controlled brake to stop the jig in any optimal position while it rotates. The most important aim of these rotating units is to assemble and weld the frame and its small parts while it is positioned in the jig (this technical condition is especially necessary for steel and aluminum TIG welding), in order to ensure an optimal final frame alignment. For a quotation please contact Ms. Monica Marchetti by email info@marchettispa.it The website is www.marchettispa.it
