First batch of brazed carbide mitre cutters just arrived from McKenzie Tool Grinding and will be for sale primarily for mitreing heat treated steel tubing such as Reynolds 853, 725 and the new stainless steel 953 although they work beautifully on non-heat treated steel tubing as well. The body material is 4140 air hardening steel to which a carbide "ring" has been brazed. After brazing the cutters go out to McKenzie Tool Grinding where the 4140 shank is precision ground to 3/4" in diameter. The carbide ring is ground to each respective mitre cutter diameter and the teeth are gummed in.
